The Grassper Hay Tote is the simple solution to feeding grass hay. Alas, we have all experienced that moment when grass hay is pulled away from the bale and it begins to fall apart. Trying to carry this loosely packed hay is impossible without it ending up all over the ground and down our shirts and pants. Although we have discovered that grass hays are much better for our horses than alfalfa, many people have found feeding this type of hay such a hassle and such a mess that they continue to feed straight alfalfa. Now, you can eliminate the problems associated with handling grass hays by carrying your horses feed in a GRASSPER hay tote. Its simply the BEST WAY TO CARRY HAY.

Here at RED WOLF RANCH in Ramona, California, we raise and ride endurance and trail horses. We also have a few retired horses, rehab and rescue horses and Sampson, the pony. We feed 12-14 horses daily. We have three different types of hay that we feed. Timothy, Bermuda and alfalfa and each horse has its own individual feeding program.

The GRASSPER HAY TOTE was born out of the frustrations inherent in the handling of grass hay. To get the hay from the feed barn to each horses feeder was messy and time consuming. As we loaded the hay into and out of the wheelbarrow, the hay would crumble and fall apart, ending up all over the ground and barn floor, not to mention all over ourselves! We conceived of a hay carrier that could be laid out flat on the floor and would hold securely each horses hay rations. Since we feed a combination of different hay, it became much easier to keep each horses specific hay portions organized. We added double-ended snaps to secure the handles together. This allowed the hay to be neatly stacked in the wheelbarrow. We found we could fit a lot more hay securely in the wheelbarrow without it falling over the edges. Once near the corrals and pastures, we could easily carry the hay out to the feeders. The GRASSPER HAY TOTE easily carries up to three flakes of hay each. This made it possible to park the wheelbarrow in the barn aisle or by the pasture gate and carry enough hay for 4 horses over to the feeders in one quick trip. This is also much easier than pushing a wheelbarrow in and out of gates or through sand or under muddy conditions. What a time saver. Feeding now takes half the time and there is virtually no wasted hay. Any loose hay is simply forked onto a laid out hay tote. Our hay barn floors and aisles are clean. No more mess. We have also found many other great advantages to using the GRASSPER HAY TOTE. On windy days instead of the hay blowing away all over the ground and all over us, the hay tote holds the hay securely in place as we carry it to the feeders. Some horses get a lunch feeding so we set the pre-loaded hay tote by their stall door and its ready to go. That saves us extra time and a trip to the hay barn. Preparing the morning feeding the night before is great for people who have limited morning time and want to keep their clothes clean for work or school. It makes it a lot easier to talk the husband or kids into feeding, too.
